Update on projects - December 2024

Quick updates on what we are working on and what to anticipate next. As promised, I am now doing these updates every quarter or so.

To make sure you receive updates on the specific projects you like - make sure you press the "Notify when available"

Soviet Weapons of the Afghan War and Uniforms and History of the Soviet Airborne in Afghanistan

Both of these books are already available and shipping in the UK and EU (and worldwide). Both books are now on the ship, making way to the warehouse in Florida. We are planning to post all pre-orders throughout January.

Easy Company in Normandy - The study of uniforms and equipment

The book that we are doing in collaboration with Plastic Invasion. We combine our design expertise, historical research, and marketing knowledge to deliver a premium product. This project will provide an in-depth exploration of the uniforms, weapons, and equipment of the legendary Easy Company paratroopers, ensuring every detail is captured with the highest accuracy and quality.

The cover might be altered in the final version

The book is planned to go live on Kickstarter on 15th of January - we are now in the later stages of preparing the marketing material. The book itself is now complete with photography, and the author is working on the text.

Soviet Weapons of the Atomic Age and Red Lens - The Evolution of Soviet Military Day and Night Optics

The continuation of our inhouse series on the Soviet Weapons. We hope to bring more book on Soviet Weapons in future, although the plan is to focus on the uniforms and equipment in 2025.

It is nearing the completion, both in text and photography and I am planning to have a printable manuscript by the end of this year (2024).

This book will also go on Kickstarter, for now it is planned for late February of 2025.

Now, the second book mentioned in the heading - Red Lens - The Evolution of Soviet Military Day and Night Optics is a bit more tricky. I do hope to be confident enough to launch the Kickstarter for both books, but looks like I am running out of time here. So, it is unclear for now. Maybe it will be postponed and will go into pre-order and production later in 2025.

Ukrainian Armed Forces in UN missions

Now this is the cover that many people recognize and been waiting for the release for couple of years now. And we are moving forward on a very good pace! The majority of photography is done, couple more photoshoots will be conducted this month. The writing is on its way and will start as soon as the Atomic Age weapons is finished.

Ukrainian army book

The grand idea is to launch the Kickstarter for this book in summer of 2025 - by then I am anticipating to have everything ready, so it can be moved swiftly into production as soon as possible. And, with a bit of luck, this will actually come out as a two-volume set. We have an author on board, who participated in a number of UN missions himself, and now he has a manuscript about the whole range of UN related insignia of the Ukrainian forces - from name tags and patches to medals and badges. Together with the main Uniforms book it will be a very neat and informative set.

Other titles in the work

Since we are transforming from a self-publisher to the actual Publishing House, more and more authors and collectors want to submit their work to us. And we are doing our best to create needed infrastructure to accommodate this growing demand. So, first and foremost, if you would like to work with us, please submit your details in the form below:

Regarding other titles present on the website, we have a number at work, some further away from completion than other. We are on a good path, with some plans to move into less photographical and more verbose (and hence, less expensive) books. I will consider it being my personal success if there will be ten books available from Safar Publishing by the end of 2025.
